Shop Act License is a kind of permit or certificate that is issued by the government of India to any business establishment. It is also known as Gumasta License in Jaipur. It is compulsory to register under shop right act within 30 days of opening a business.

 

Application Of Shop Act

Shop and Establishment Act is governed by labor department of the state and generally registration application is to be submitted to local district labor officer. If the concerned officer is satisfied with the application he/she will issue Shop and Establishment Act registration certificate.

Application procedure would differ from state to state, however, basic details to be provided at the time of applying for registration are as follows:

For Individuals

  • Name of the shop or business
  • Full address of the business
  • Name of the occupier or employer.
  • Nature of the business. For example, bakery, boutique etc.
  • State where the shop or business is located.
  • ID proof of the occupier/employer such as voter ID, aadhar, or passport.
  • PAN card of the employer or occupier
  • Proof of address of business such as utility bills like electricity or telephone, or rent deed/agreement etc
  • Category of establishment, such as shop, restaurant, theater etc
  • Number of employee
  • Details of employee

For Partnership

  • Name of the shop or business
  • Full address of the business
